Challenge
RE/MAX
Affiliates wanted to offer a professional, cost effective web presence
to each agent in their organization. The agent websites had to be
easily changed and/or updated so that they wouldn't require much
effort on the part of the agents or administrative staff. These
web sites had to provide enhanced functionality, present a consistent,
quality image and be affordable for the agents and the brokers.
Strategy
MFM
met with brokers, office personnel and select agents to discuss
web site content as well as their experience with current web sites
and the present options available. Common components that were most
effective and useful to their customers we determined.
Tactics
MFM utilized a three-tier development model with modular components
to provide flexibility and improve cost effectiveness of future
upgrades to the sites. A secure intranet option, easily reached
through the broker's current web site, was developed for administration
of the individual sites. Several template designs were created so
the agents could select from different styles but still present
a consistent image. All agent sites were brought under the same
domain as the brokerage. MFM created an innovative pricing structure
that would be attractive to both the agents and broker. On behalf
of the broker, MFM conducted a brief seminar explaining the benefits
of the new system to the agents.
Result
This approach provided each agent with a marketable web address
and greatly improved functionality with many updated features like
automatically updated listings. The brokerage now had a consistent
professional web presence throughout the agent sites that is also
is easy to maintain. More than 98% of RE/MAX Affiliates' agents
purchased the new web sites from the broker, offsetting development
costs.
